It's Bouquet (The Bucket Woman)

This is the yummy wool my SP sent me in one of the parcels, it is Aran in the most gorgeous tweed colours, which I have been wanting to make into something, but was looking for inspiration. I started this yesterday and I am very pleased with how it is working out, I swatched and swatched till I came up with what I had in my head. I was thinking country tweed, Hyacinth Bucket (its Bouquet) cottage in the country "where's my tweeds Richard, I must wear my tweeds when we go to the country dear" and this is the result. It is going to be a wrap, one to wear draped over the shoulders with a pin. The wools label says Coldharbour Mill knitting yarn and that it is spun at Coldharbour Mill Uffculme, Devon, England it is the most beautiful wool to knit and I wish there was a web site, but then again maybe not, I don't think the credit card could stand that sort of punishment. So this is what I have been working on as well as the squirrel jacket.

I have started a couple of other things which is very unusual for me, I usually am quite strict with the amount of WIPs I have but hey I am in a UFO knitters anonymous so how can I hold my head up and blurt out I have 1 UFO, so I think it is time I had UFOs. I will ramble on about my other WIPs in my next post, must get off this computer before DD gets home from school and starts pulling faces because she wants to get on it, she is 13 in 3 weeks time, teenagers don't you just love them!!!!!!!!

Oh Sharon - I'm so chuffed that you are using the yarn that I sent you - I'm glad you like the colours. If you run out and need anymore, let me know and I can give them a call - I'm sure they would be happy to post some on to me and I can forward it to you.

Your wrap looks gorgeous - I can't wait to see it draped around your stylish shoulders - I assume you will only be wearing it with twin set and pearls !

Love SP xx

Sharon, My Dad was born in Amsterdam, so I'm 1/2 dutch too! (Although I'm married to a 1/2 german.) I grew up surrounded by 30+ first cousins and lots of good dutch cooking from my Oma. My Opa was an artist, and my Oma a seamstress, so hopefully some good vibes were handed down via genetics!

Gorgeous yarn - I'm ready to dive into the photo and check it out. Wish I lived closer to your SP and wherever she found that.

Michelle - UFO=unfinished object and WIP=work in progress
