I Love Holidays

Yes as you can probably guess by my lack of posts I have been busy partying over the holiday season, catching up with friends and relatives and of course eating and drinking and being merry. Holidays you got to love them, even if my waistline doesn't. I have had some time for knitting though, finishing off my UFOs which are all now waiting for me to sew them up, my least favourite side to knitting garments. I have started Alice Starmores 'Mystic' which once you establish all the patterns isn't as daunting as I thought it would be, however I do only manage a few rows at a time as I have too many distractions around me to be able to concentrate on it for too long. I did start and finish the Rowan Tweed socks, being 8ply they knitted up very quickly.

I always have a pair of socks on the go so I started yet another pair of opal for my mindless TV watching, sitting in the sun project. We are having real funny weather at the moment, one day can be cold and wet and the next day hot, weird. I am now going to go and make a nice cup of coffee and catch up on all my favourite blogs and knitting forums.

Hey sounds like you had a great Xmas!.I did too, casual with only the essentual stuff followed up.
The weather has been weird here,40's back to high teens with drizzle next.I wish it would rain properly to lay the bull dust as its getting bad at school as we rake a lot!(Came home covered last week, nearly had to shake myself like a dog out of the dam!!!!!!!!!!!)
I'm nearly finished the first sock in a shepard pattern for my youngest boy but am wondering where the devil I hid a couple of Bendigo balls of cream Classic as I am really itching to dye some to make into socks for me! The colours available over the net are to dye for(lol). The Australian mills and manufactors will have to get a move on 'cause the european stock is way ahead. Most go DH is cooking me a Nice Steak sandwich,mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....Cathy

I like to think that New Year's Eve is in no way indicative of the way the actual New Year will go!! So you will spend this year eating copious amounts of scrummy food, imbibing in decadent wines and living a life of luxury surrounded by friends!!!
Great socks!! I am almost finished ACMA's, Have 1 foot and a toe to go!!!

Love the socks. Will they be at the next S'n'B.

We had a very quiet Christmas but a quite rowdy New Year at Aurora Stadium as the entertainment was top notch.

Hey Sharon,
Thanks for the instant feedback. I don't know why I've had blog phobia. Hope you and yours had a lovely Christmas and New Year. There is a strong southerly blowing tonight so tomorrow will probably rain again - weird for Adelaide

Back again, meant to ask, what sock pattern are you using? I am working on a mindless 8ply tweed that is surprisingly good to knit with in this heat, andway simple sock pattern that I was told only needed two 50g balls. So far I have turned heel after chickening out of 7" leg making it 6" in an effort to save wool. But if I run out of wool I have no worries undoing it as its quik to do!

Happy New Year Shazza from Shaz (aka stripey) your socks look good- I shoudl do 8 ply for my first socks I guess instead of trying to go all fancy...*sigh* choosing a pattern is sometimes tough!! ;-)

Happy New Year and great looking socks! Sounds like you had a very nice time with friends, family and wine! Nothing better than that!
