Think Pink

I am definately not a pink girl but look what is now in my posession. Yesterday I went to Agfest, which is a huge rural exhibition of all sorts of blokey things plus many craft exhibitors to attract the fairer sex as well, and Flinders Island Fleece had a stand. Flinders Island is a very small island just north of mainland Tasmania, they had this 100% pure merino wool which looks and feels so soft and yes it is pink, it is called dusty pink on the shade card and it is destined to become something cabled. I am thinking that somehow the pink socks and the cabled shrug have worked their way into my subconciousness, so now I am scouring my HUGE pattern stash to try and find something to knit this delightful yarn into. I also came away with their shade card which of course will mean future purchases I am sure.

The bright pink sock now has a mate, tomorrow they go to their new owner, I hope she likes them as they are very bright, fingers crossed.

Last but definately not least is a photo of Rocky, now that is one relaxed, happy cat. I am being a bit cheeky and have deliberately put a photo of Rocky in here today as I have been reading a discussion over at KNITTERS REVIEW FORUMS about what makes a great blog and some people have spoke of their disapproval of pets on knitting blogs. Whatever they reckon, I personally think that they miss the whole point that a knitters pet is just as important as other things that they post about on their blog.

The fire is blazing, the weather is freezing cold and as I now have finished the socks I am going to go and do some more of my poor neglected Cabled Shrug, till next time, happy knitting.

I am not a PINK girl!

However I am a huge supporter of pets on blogs knitting or otherwise. The Daft White Cat makes occasional appearences, and I'm Harki and Peri would be sadly missed if CIndy stopped including them.

If hse'd never included them, well, it might have been a little odd being 2paw.

Yes, Sharon and Suzi, The Labradors would be bereft!! I would be 0paw!!! Do these knitters feature their family members at all, in word or picture? Harki and Peri aren't technically pets, they are Animal Companions and my Family!!
I know you will love the wool,I am not a pink person either, but please bring the shade card, I can see green!!!

Flinders Island Fleece yarns are gorgeous to knit with. You'll love kitting with the yarn Sharon.

Kitties and doggies are a must on a blog! Love the photo of Rocky - he's adoreable.

That flinders merino looks very nice, what's the price like and do they have a website?? I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a shade card...If it's good I would rather be supporting an Australian producer!!!

Love the pink even though I, like so many others, am not a "pink" girl.
Put whatever you like one your blog. After all, it is YOUR blog. That's my 5 cents worth!

The yarn looks lovely. I had no idea they would be selling yarn at Agfest. I am so there next year! Guess what? I am wearing Shazza's Socks from your pattern right now, and they are great. I will post pics tomorrow. Well done on making a matching pair. B@ugg&r)d if I can.

Pets on blogs are fine with me. I am guilty as charged. I think a blog is personal, and so you should post things important to you.
Do Flinders Island Fleece have a web site?

ooooh, I like the pink, too. I am liking it more and more...what the hell? My closet is entirely black. Who would guess?
So have you ever been to THE NUT? Stanley, right? I also remember some guys there in Tasmania trying to convince me that the Tasmanian devils would drag me out of my tent at night.....Do I look THAT gullible?

I've just finished my Opal Dreamcatcher socks and will blog about them later today. I used the entire 100g and made knee-highs (to wear with knee-high boots)! I'm sure the receipient loves them - they are gorgeous!
