I am constantly reading of the kindness and generosity of the worldwide knitting community, knitters are indeed a wonderful bunch of people. I have witnessed this first hand this week, through comments left on my blog and many emails received in regards to my son Haydens operation. Wonderful knitting folk whom I may have never met face to face but you are true friends indeed. So a huge big thank you from the bottom of my heart to you all and just to let you know that Hayden is okay, a sore mouth but he is fine. I mean what 11 year old boy wouldn't be when at the moment his diet consists of custard, jelly and icecream. Oh and soup, thanks to his Uncle Ed who has a bit of a reputation in our family for his awesome soup.
Of course I do have something to show for five hours sitting at the hospital on Tuesday. I managed to knit this much of the front of the 60's cabled jumper, and it proved to be a wise choice as there is just enough happening in the pattern to distract my mind off what was happening, well slightly anyway.
Also another act of generosity from Sue in Melbourne, we are now in the process of doing a swap. She is getting some of my stitch markers in return for a set of Pony dpns. The poor postie will be having to make a quick getaway on his bike as this crazy sock knitting woman will be running out to the letterbox, to check for her parcel of prized knitting needles.
So once again, thank you everyone and happy knitting to you all

Glad to hear that everything is going well, including your cable jumper & to top it off, you are getting the Pony dpns. Do let us know how well the Pony dpns knit & maybe I will have to buy some (since I am now addicted to knitting socks)!
Glad to hear Hayden's doing well!
I often meet the mail carrier at the box....
Beautiful cabled sweater. I'm glad you found someone to help you out with the needles problem!
I'm so glad your son is on the other side of the surgery and is feeling somewhat better! And look at that beautiful sweater!!!
Glad you have found someone to help you with the needles, but please call on me if you need help in the future -- be glad to!
Glad to hear that Hayden is feeling a bit better after his surgery.
The colour of the jumper is verrrrrrrrrrrry nice.

I made lemon marmalade last week end.
Your jumper is looking good as is the Betty zippy up cardigan.
I'll have too investigate this blue square thing you mentioned.
cheers
Glad to hear everything went well. Lovely jumper.
Hi Sharon,I would just to thankyou for your lovely comments, just like you said in your post it is very touching when people take the time to care. I am glad Hayden is doing well. I hope you have a nice weekend.
Sharon, glad your son is doing well.
With regard to your comment on my blog, I was able to find one of my wrist thingys and bought another one today - though now I expect the other one to jump out at me since I bought a new one lol. The one I found, I found yesterday so I was able to wear it in the evening and at night, switching it from one wrist to the other. I also took it to work and used it for awhile as well, and that helped. I plan on wearing them both to bed tonight and taking them to work should I need them tomorrow.
Thanks for your offer of sending the wrist thing you mentioned; I should be alright with these (they have those pieces of metal in them that keep your wrist and hand at the angle it should be). I really appreciate your generous nature :o).
Hope Haydens's feeling better now. Sorry I have missed a few of your posts as I've been extremely busy. The jumper looks very nice and can't wait to see it done!
Hi Sharon, I haven't been on much lately...thanks for coming to visit me. I got my pics up and yes, I did make myself a banner. I missed your son had surgery. My son had 5 teeth pulled last week and that was a bit hard...but he recovered quicker than Daddy and I! lol
((((Sharon)))) I'm so glad he's doing well..wanted to let you know the pattern arrived safely, thank you!
Take care and your cables look terrific!
Hi Sharon...thanks for the birthday wishes...yes, my birthday is Sun. Those were knit-lites and they are made by Clover....I have a small yarn shop and they arrived in stock today! kinda fun
