What's So Funny???

According to my children, these are. I bought a delightful old 1960s Villawool pattern book off ebay especially for these slipper/socks, and all the little darlings can do is crack up everytime they look at them. They are knitted with 12ply wool on size 3.75mm needles, much smaller than would normally be recommended, but the result is a nice firm fabric. I am yet to knit its mate as maybe I am the only one who can't see what a joke they are, so tell me what do you think? Be honest, I can take it. Believe me over the last few days I have heard it all, kids are so cruel honest!!

About this time last year I started a fair isle jumper for my SIL, anyway to cut a long story short and to prevent myself venting about it again, lets just say that the project got shelved. I rediscovered it this morning and thought it was just way too nice to be sitting 1/2 finished in the bottom of my wardrobe, so I have started working on it again. What I will do with it when finished, who knows, I may even keep it for myself. This weekend is a long weekend due to the Queen of Englands birthday, this may seem strange to many but she is the head honcho of our country. Whatever your beliefs on the monarchy are, if it gives me an extra day this weekend, I for one will take it and spend it knitting what else!!

I was just going to say that they look like ballet shoes but Michelle beat me to it.

OK, I am giggling a little bit!!! I think they are a bit stark - they need some cool and trendy embellishment - some crochet around the opening and maybe a flower or other bauble at the centre front or some embroidery!!! They are vintage and so they are intrinsically cool at the moment!!!

Oh...cool! They DO look like ballet slippers...
Knit the other one - go on, let the kids laugh. Then embellish. I think they're great and I want that pattern book!
(((hugs)))

I like them! They kind of look like the knit version of the ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz.

I think they're cute! I am making your muse hat right now, I am encountering a slight snag though, I am loosing a stitch on the third pattern row and I keep having to make one upon starting the fourth row? I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong :-(....Marj

I think they are cute whether embellished or not. Love the color! (my kids do that to me, too. what is it anyway that makes them do that to us?)

Funny? Not at all! Kids sometimes have "weird" taste so don't worry about it. I so wish to put my feet into your slippers to keep them warm in these cold days!

I think the slipper/socks are cute and will keep your feet warm around the house.

If the kids laugh at them again, tell them if they don't stop they will each get one or more pairs of them for Christmas, and that will be all they get. If you tell them that, make sure to have a grumpy look on your face so they will take you seriously LOL!
