Finished With A Few Days To Spare

Finished in time for my niece Haleys' first birthday on Sunday. What a delightful pattern, this one is definately a 'do again'. I used Zara which is a lovely soft merino wool, and is also machine washable and the pattern came from STYK. The hardest part, after I took a dip in the *frogging pond that is, was finding a button to finish it off. Out of all the pink buttons at Spotlight there was only one that was the same pink as the cardigan, luckily it was the right size.

I am going to take part in my very first Knitalong, and I am extremely excited about it. I have wanted to be part of one for a long time now but everytime I find one I like it is either finished or pretty close to being so. I found The Central Park Hoodie Knitalong thanks to Cindy and she will also be taking part.

This is what we will be knitting and the pattern is in the Fall issue of Knitscene. If you want to join us head on over here and get the details. I have ordered the yarn already in anticipation for this KAL, which doesn't start until September, I could not get the yarn that the pattern suggested but have instead gone with some Rowan Tweed Aran, yum!!

Very nice! I can see the pictures today, much better.

I hadn't heard of this Knit Along but the pattern looks awesome, I may add it to my list of things to make one day. Not any more knit alongs for the time being for me.

Where do you get Knitscene?

Glad you are joining the knitalong! It will be my first one (starting from the beginning of a project, not one in progress) too!

Wow, you are really fast - 1 day you were frogging & now the cardi is ready - looks gorgeous! What is a KAL? What do you have to do? Is it just knitting the project with everyone else? Is there a deadline? It sounds interesting & sorry for asking so many ??? as I have not participated before.

Wow Sharon, the cardigan looks beautiful. I love the lace detail - well worth the trip to the Frog pond! Who'd have though that finding the right button could be so difficult!

Hi Shazza! I am so enthused that I too have decided to do this hoodie Kal,I picked the fact you have already got the yarn(or ordered)! can you tell me the yarn species, ply, no of balls? just so I have an idea of what I can use!!!!I had the book/mag ordered within minutes of looking at it!!!!I'm thinking a deep royal blue....

Ps no sign of that Opal wool from Germany YET... I made contact with the shop and she reckoned it was around 3 weeks to Tassie but 9 or more weeks to WA!!!!I certainly won't plan any quick shopping with them in the future, I am so looking forward to getting them though,hmmm... I'm thinking the Tiger wil be first!!!
