Life Begins At 40

The knitted pieces for Central Park Hoodie are finished and all that needs to be done now is my favourite chore, the sewing up of the seams. Instead of picking up the stitches seperately for the left and right fronts, I picked them up in one go so that there wouldn't be a join in the ribbing. So all going well it should be finished over the weekend.

Look away now Mrs Doctor Who because I know how much you love knitted dishcloths and I know you will desperately be wanting one. Here is the third and final dishcloth for the Dishcloth Swap. So they will be making their way to their new home on the other side of the world in the next few days.

I have also joined another knitalong, this time the Leapin' Lizards KAL working on the Lizard Ridge Afghan. I have ordered some Noro Kureyon and it should be arriving early next week so I can make a start.

Oh and on Sunday I will no longer be 30 something but I will be turning 40, don't quite know how I feel about it because the scary thing is it only seems like yesterday I was turning 30 and I still only feel as though I am 18, oh well.

Till next time, happy knitting.

Congratulations! And Happy Birthday! I remember when my father was forty, my mother organised a surprise party complete with very exctiing black and white "Over the hil" decorations...
I did like them!

Excellent progress on the knitting front, poor Mrs Dr Who...but while the doctor is away travellign she would have lplenty of time to knit herself some surely!

Happy Birthday early. Surprisingly, turning 40 didn't "hurt" for me. I had serious issues turning 25, but since then I've been enjoying my age. Though SAYING I'm 42 still sorta shocks me.

Happy Birthday! I really do think it's not the number, but the attitude toward life and enjoying it to the fullest. (At least, that's what I'm telling myself...I'm a few years behind you so please leave me with my illusions if they are that!).

Gorgeous hoodie!!

Hi,I have just checked out the Leaping Lizards and think I may be able to duplicate the look by dying some 12 ply Bendy, now it won't have that unusual texture that Noro has but it will be definitely more economical!Even some handspun could be possible...bugger I have too many things on the go now.....

Turning 40. Another 5 yrs for me and I'll be right there with you. I still feel like I'm 16 on the inside though. Strange.... but I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like this.

Feliz Cumpleanos!

Happy belated 40th Sharon and don't worry I will be joining you at the end of Jan next year. Don't worry about the numbers as you are only as old as you feel.

Your hoodie looks fab, which I'm sure you will have finished off by now, so look forward to seeing a pic.

Good luck with your new Lizard Afghan KAL. I fell in love with this when I saw it, but sadly I will not be knitting this, as Kureyon was responsible for me not being able to knit with wool yarns for over 12 months due to an allergic reaction to this yarn for some reason. I suspect that I am allergic to the chemicals they use to dye the yarn, as I am chemical sensitive. Nevermind, I still love the beautiful colour effects of this yarn.
