My Ipod Nano Has A Cover

This is what Mr Brickie and the kids gave me for my birthday and once I finally worked out how to use it, yes I am a tad slow with these things in fact I am as thick as those bricks that Mr Brickie lays. Well anyway, I love my ipod nano and I wanted to make a cover for it as the one that came with it wasn't very practical. I found a great pattern for one at Designedly Kristi's blog and it is a great pattern, made out of leftover 4ply sock yarn. Check out her site it is well worth a visit, she is a very talented young woman.

A while back I won a competiton over at Crafty Bernie's and yesterday my prize arrived in the mail, some Noro Kureyon and a lovely hand crafted card by Bernie herself. The Kureyon is just the thing for someone in the middle of knitting Lizard Ridge. Thank you so much Bernie and this square of the afghan will be known as Bernies square. She did say that I might be tempted to use it for something else but I am loving this pattern so much and the colours in this wool are just beautiful that I wasn't the least bit tempted.

The following photos are of the square on the needles at the moment and the squares that I have made so far. This is an easy knit but be warned, don't make a mistake because if you do and have to unpick the row that follows the wrapped and turned stitches forget it. The only solution is to rip back to the last stocking stitch row worked, I tried to unpick stitch by stitch but was left with gaping holes in my work, at least the rows only have 43 stitches.

My final thoughts today are with our next door neighbour and his family, he was involved in a car accident this week and received terrible injuries. This has really affected me because I have never met anyone like him before in my life, he is a young husband and father who has this amazing zest for life and this personality that puts a smile on your face no matter what mood you happen to be in. It is going to be a long road ahead for him but I know that if anyone can cope with all this it will be my neighbour, our friend xx

It took me 3 hours of dissapointment to understand how to get the music into my ipod shuffle but i guess i should read the instructions first not automatically look for a cable.

Lizard Ridge is coming along great.

I never wanted an iPod or an MP3 player. But my husband got me an offbrand MP3 player last holidays and now I'm already hinting that I want one that holds bazillions of megs of stuff. I don't use it when knitting --except when I knit outside. But now I love it so much, without it I wouldn't be able to keep my sanity when walking the dog.

Sending good wishes for your neighbor.

Lovely start to your Lizard Ridge! I'm planning on making one too, but I'm slowly having to collect all the Kureyon.

I'm sorry to hear of your neighbor. Sending good thoughts.

Best wishes for your neighbor's recovery, and peace and strength for his family. Those coming spring days are going to be the best medicine; fingers crossed he can get outdoors a little bit.

Love your nano cover! If Santa brings me an iPod, I'll be using your pattern! And I love those colorful swatches! How many squares do you have to make?

How do you get multiple photos in blogspot. I use Picassa but I don't think you can put up more than one photo

The IPod cover is cute! I'd knit one but I odn't have an Ipod to put in it. Maybe if I knit one I'll get one to put in it?

The squares for th eLizard Ridge are ocming along well! It is on my fantasy to do list. Maybe furthur down the track, I'll just have to squirerl Noro away till I have enough.

I hope your neighbour recovers well and soon. But he osunds like a very positive person and positive thought can heal alot torubles much sooner.

Lizard Ridge looks awesome, love the colors. Also, best wishes to your neighbor. I hope that he can get the best of medical care and therapies available to him. What are his injuries if you don't mind sharing? I am an occupational therapist and work with all types of injuries and illnesses.

Oh I'm loving those Lizard squares - looks like you are steaming along. I just love the colours.

I recently knitted an Ipod cover and I enjoyed it so much I couldn't stop myself knitting another one - now what use do I have for two Ipod covers ? Once you start you just can't stop !

Sorry to hear about your neighbour - that sort of thing is always shocking when it happens so close to home. I hope he makes a full recovery soon.

Your squares look lovely. I am going to knit a cover for my Nano too. That will once and for all convince my workmates I have gone mad.

Sorry to hear about your neighbour. The strength of his personality will be a big factor in his recovery, as will the support from people like you.

Cool ipod thingy. That is one piece of technology this musician is not familiar with - believe it or not!

Wow - Lizard Ridge is moving along beautifully! Nice. Sorry you had to go back...
