Doesn't Time Fly

When you are having fun as the old saying goes. Am I having fun? Well I have been knitting a little bit, when the hot weather permits. We are heading into our 9th straight day of hot weather with the weekend looking like it will be even hotter which is slightly unusual for Tasmania. Last night we had a thunder storm and some rain which bought a bit of cool relief overnight. So what have I been knitting?

Dishcloths, yes in this heat knitting is proving a bit difficult so something small and cotton works best. I am also hoping to educate my fellow Aussie friends about the benefits of using handknitted dishcloths because I was unaware of these little gems until only recently and now I wouldn't use anything else. I have in the past used Enjo cloths but find them expensive and my knitted ones work just as well if not better.

I have also been knitting my February/March contribution for Project Spectrum. One sock is finished and the other will be started over the weekend.

I am using Opal Rodeo in blue, black and white colours which are the three colour options for Project Spectrum, which I happened to have in my stash and the pattern is out of an old 1950's pattern book which I picked up off ebay. In the second pic you can see the pattern which has a wavy cable effect but in reality is just K4, P2 for 6 rounds and then K1 *P2, K4 for 6 rounds. I have some plain coloured Opal which will look lovely in this pattern and it doesn't even take a lot of concentration to do, perfect for me!

Oh well that is about all for now, I must now go and do some dreaded housework before getting ready to go to a friends shack tonight for a girly night out which should be a lot of fun. Till next time, happy knitting.

Sick Computer Now Fixed

Yes you may have been wondering where I have been all this time and I can now say that I am back. The computer just siezed up one morning and had to go and be fixed and would you believe it that when I got it back home it lasted a few hours before it died again! So off it went again and now fingers crossed and a few parts later it is okay now, thankfully it was still under warranty. Meanwhile we were using the old bomby computer which was way too slow to do anything but check emails as for browsing any sites with pictures, forget it.

I have been having trouble with carpal tunnel which has prevented a lot of knitting being and done, ironic isn't it that it flares up when I didn't have my computer and the kids returned to school which normally would have meant a lot of knitting time. As for the sewing up of Lizard Ridge that is coming along slowly, I think if it was winter I would be more motivated to finish it. I have finished a couple of hats for my etsy shop another flapper hat and a brimmed beanie. There is a beret too but I haven't got around to taking any pics yet so stay tuned for that and the progress of my first item for Project Spectrum.

So there you have it and now I must go and get ready as I am going out to lunch with a friend and then over the next few days I will be catching up with everyones blogs. Till then, happy knitting.
