Socks, Socks And More

I have finished the two pairs of 8ply socks that I was working on for the market, pressed, ready to be labeled and hopefully sold tomorrow, nothing wrong with being optimistic now is there. The sock in progress is the first of the three pairs ordered, this one is the same as the others, 8ply, nice quick knitting. The pattern is a simple seed stitch which doesn't require a lot of thought and can be taken anywhere.

Janelle had a haircut yesterday so as I sat waiting, I knitted and received lots of comments about my knitting, it cracks me up when I get 'oh isn't it great to see a young person knitting' wouldn't it be great if our craft could lose the 'only old people knit tag' I mean what other hobbies or crafts attract such a negative vibe? It must be how young people who play lawn bowls feel!!!

Look what I bought off ebay
Yippee, I have been bidding on this for ages and of course kept getting outbid, this happened again this week and when I received an email telling me that I had been outbid there was a link for another one available. It was a buy it now and would you believe that I paid less for it than what they have been selling for in the auctions?? Now I must be patient and hopefully the same will happen with Nigella Lawsons Feast.

That is one verrrrrrrrrrry handy book.

I have one and have used it quite a bit. (I inherited mine from my Mum).

Wow - what a great deal on your book. You must be a fast knitter - turning out those beautiful socks so quickly.

The socks look great! Good luck at selling them...I'm sure you will!

I don't think I've seen that knitting book before...of course there are tons of knitting books I haven't seen, so that doesn't really make any difference. Glad you got it for a good price!

Hi Sharon

Just wanted to let you know, the rights to the mitten story are still mine. If your sister-in-law is interested, you can let me know and I can give you my email address so she can contact me.

Those socks look great, nice and snuggly.

That book is fantastic, I have it as well, mine was a garage sale find. I'm sure it will get a lot of use.

It never ceases to amaze me why people feel the need to make a comment on knitting. I don't judge people who read, play cricket, juggle etc.LOL

I'm thinking of joining the Sexy Knitters Club myself!

Cool socks again Shazza, and well done on obtaining the book. Oh, that ebay rush! Where does the pattern for your 8ply sock reside?

oooh, you got a harmony guide! I should watch out for them on ebay but I try to stay away from it ;-) Too dangerous!
It feels very gratifying when some of your stuff sells at a market, doesn't it? Hmm, maybe i'll dye up some yarn and make some 8 ply socks for myself, see how they go... they look so yummy and warm!

I would also like to know where to find the 8 ply sock pattern, they look very warm and cozy. Great colors too. I would probably wear one red one and one blue one :-)

Love the socks! And it's not just old people that knit, or play bowls for that matter! I've done both...lol! Looks like a good book, has it helped out??

I like your socks too. I also get the wow "your" knitting type thing too. I am the only one under 60 (apart from the co-ordinator) who goes to knitting club here.
